Active Release Technique (ART) PhysiotherapyActive Release Technique (ART) is a manual technique that works directly with the anatomical structures responsible for symptoms of soft tissue disorders. By releasing the level of tightness and/or scar tissue formation, we can treat conditions like carpal tunnel syndrome, postural strain, tennis elbow, and many other sports related injuries.

This treatment works by releasing the level of tightness or scar tissue formation that has formed as a result of injury, overuse, or even postural imbalances. The tissues are worked to fix injuries within muscles, tendons, ligaments, and between nerves to allow for improved tissue texture, tension, movement & function.

Although it is a manual therapy, Active Release is unique in its systematic approach because the patient can control the active movement during treatment.

ART® is used to allow for free and unimpeded movement of muscles, tendons, nerves and joints, to allow for a dramatic change in comfort, flexibility and strength. For elite athletes, ART® Performance Care is used to “dial in” to the athlete’s injury to improve their form and function.
